Bodhish Thomas is the CEO of the Open Healthcare Network Foundation, a GitHub Star, founder, engineer, and open-source leader working at the intersection of healthcare, digital public infrastructure, and AI. He is the creator and architect of Open Healthcare Network, a Digital Public Good that powers critical healthcare infrastructure across multiple Indian states. Founded during the pandemic, OHC has grown from an emergency response initiative into a community-driven healthcare technology ecosystem stewarded by the Open Healthcare Network Foundation.
His open-source portfolio includes CARE, MediSpeak, MyTemplate, and AfterFlood, alongside significant contributions to Pupilfirst LMS and the broader Digital Public Goods ecosystem. He has led work on building scalable, open-source platforms for healthcare and education, and has been at the forefront of applying AI to solve complex challenges in public systems. His work reflects a deep belief that open technology, when built with communities and institutions, can become infrastructure for societal transformation.
Bodhish is one of the first recipients of GitHub’s Open Source Grants from India, a GitHub Star, a board member of FOSS United, and the winner of the NASSCOM Makers Award 2026. Through his work, he has demonstrated a rare ability to architect technology, mobilize open-source communities, and build systems that serve people at scale. His journey continues to show how free and open-source software can move beyond code to become a foundation for public good.
